Building Community around Change Leadership

The SUNY DLE Project Expands Access and Resources for its Change Leadership Community of Practice

Change leadership provides a structured process for guiding teams through change so that leaders can focus their attention and energies on supporting and engaging team members in building a culture of resilience amidst change. After a launch this fall, the DLE Change Leadership Community of Practice (CoP) is continuing to offer support to campus leaders in leveraging the DLE and LMS transition for maximum impact at the campus level. The Community of Practice currently has 43 members representing 26 SUNY institutions, plus SUNY System Administration. The Community of Practice includes individuals representing diverse administrative, technical, student support, and other roles.

Members of the DLE Change Leadership Community of Practice participate in a series of monthly webinars from December 2022 – March 2023. Webinar 1 “Introduction to Change Leadership” was held in December 2022 and included 45 registrants representing 28 SUNY Institutions, as well as a group participating from the Doodle Conference. Webinar 2 “Who is Changing?” was held in January 2023 and included 58 registrants from 34 SUNY institutions. Webinar 3 “Communicating Change,” and Webinar 4 “Change Leadership Tools” will be offered on February 9 and March 16, respectively. Webinars are open to campus team members and other interested members of the SUNY community. Register Now!

There is also a companion Brightspace Course with links to webinar recordings and Change Leadership resources. It currently has 64 members enrolled. Enrollees who complete activities and assessments within the course will be eligible for a SUNY CPD certificate in DLE Change Leadership. Enroll Now!

All members of the SUNY community are invited to access this opportunity for campuses to leverage this transition to address and support other priorities such as diversity, equity, and inclusion; EIT accessibility; general education; student success; support and assessment of student learning; faculty development, etc.
